Improving outcomes in peritoneal dialysis through patient-centred clinical trials
Purpose:
Globally, the number of people living with kidney disease requiring dialysis or transplantation is growing. Peritoneal dialysis (PD), a form of home-based therapy, has been promoted by the international community as a solution to overcome this crisis. Yet, globally only 11% of patients on dialysis receive PD and the number of people choosing PD therapy for their kidney disease is declining. My research program is focussed on patient-important outcomes to directly address these deficiencies.
