Purpose:
Reverse cycle inverter air conditioning systems are reported to produce two thirds less greenhouse gas emissions than gas heating systems. The current gas heating system is 15 years old and the roof ducts are in poor condition, resulting in significant energy wastage and loss. The advanced inverter technology in the proposed system also allows much more energy efficient temperature and humidity control
The current evaporative air conditioning system is over 30 years old. It requires frequent maintenance and suffers regular leaks that can result in wastage of around 15 litres of water per hour. It also suffers from the same issue of deteriorating ducts and resultant cooling loss. Also with increasing humidity this unit in effective on many days in summer consuming energy but producing little effective cooling.
Key activities to be undertaken are:
1. removal and discard of redundant gas heater and evaporative cooling (cooling outlets to be taped over and left in ceiling),
2.installation and commissioning Daikin FDYAN125 12.5 KW reverse cycle inverter ducted system.
