Purpose:
The objective of this project is to purchase and install Solar Panels on the Roof of the Clubhouse, to improve the Energy Efficiency Practices of the Club and reduce the Electricity Bills, whilst making a significant contribution to Carbon Abatement.
The Plan is to purchase and install, 48 new photo voltaic generating modules, plus inverter which will all be Clean Energy Council approved products and installed by GEC accredited installers and connected directly to the Grid. This project will generate 255 Small Scale Technology Certificates. All equipment and installation procedures will conform to State and Local Government Regulations.
Various factions of the local community utilise our Club, which is open all year, to participate and enjoy the benefits of meeting together socially in safe, suitable and comfortable surroundings. Over the course of a full year, we would estimate that there are approx. 9000 people movements involved in visiting and utilising the Club and Community Hall – and we are pleased to report that new families moving into the area, as well as our long standing neighbours are participating in the various activities that take place in the Club. The Hall is regularly utilised by various User Groups, which includes the Glen Eira Youth Orchestra/Brass Band, Glen Eira Probus Club, Studebaker Car Club, Community 3165 Facebook Group and popular weekly Thai Chi sessions. As well as these regular functions, we host gatherings and celebrations for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings and Funeral Wakes.
