Purpose:
This project will provide an IoT–based Smart Cities network to drive the first steps toward smart cities transformation. Public smart cities networks represent the next frontier of council infrastructure investment. This project will design, implement and optimise a Smart Cities Low Power Wide Area Network (WAN) covering Moreland City Council, Banyule City Council, City of Whittlesea, Mitchell Shire Council and Nillumbik Shire Council. In addition, the LoraWan network chosen for this project features an open standard aspect called ‘The Things Network’ (TTN), which will allow community members to integrate their own network of sensors. TTN will enable the community to create sensors to achieve data–driven solutions to key issues.
