Purpose:
The goal of this project is to self sustain our energy use through solar power in the Men's Shed. Much of the activities we do rely on power tools and this project will help us reduce our carbon footprint and save costs. We have a quote from a local installer in Mudgee to install a 6.3kW Grid Connected Solar System. This will be in the form of roof mounted solar panels on existing shed at 4 Campbell Street Coolah 2843. There will be 8 facing the north west and 6 facing south east.
Upon installation we will contact our current energy provider ( Red Energy) with the certificates from the certified installer and request a smart meter to be installed and our plan to be moved onto a solar based plan. ( The Red Solar Saver plan). We will then monitor our power usage to note the savings both environmentally and financially to close the feedback loop on this project.
