Upgrade of Tourist Facilities at Freycinet - TAS
Freycinet (Tasmania) – National Partnership Agreement
The Australian Government will provide $7.2 million to implement the Freycinet Peninsula Master Plan which sets out a 20 year plan for the Freycinet Peninsula including the National Park, Coles Bay and nearby towns. The funding will provide $6.55 million towards a new Visitor Gateway transit hub, a second lookout over Wineglass Bay and a new foreshore walk that will connect Coles Bay to the National Park. In addition, $650 000 will enable the implementation of a significant Aboriginal education program that will build the capacity of Tasmanian Aboriginal community to continue to deliver authentic visitor experiences, and increase the cultural understanding of visitors and tourism providers on the East Coast.
The Tasmanian Government has committed over $2.5 million towards various complementary projects within the Freycinet National Park or Coles Bay area.
