On-farm deployment of Hone Lab Red, a low-cost SOC measurement tool
Purpose:
Hone has developed & tested an affordable miniaturised handheld device (Hone Lab Red) and AI-enabled reference sample database to sample SOC using NIR spectroscopy accurately, reliably, and rapidly at low cost. This Project is to deploy the Hone solution across 110 Project area-specific locations in NSW, Victoria, Qld & WA over 2 years with continuous testing over this period. Key activities include manufacturing 110 devices, Project & Partner staff recruitment & training, landholder on-boarding, soil sampling & analysis. The Project will demonstrate the commercial scalability of this solution for in-field carbon testing in diverse farm geographies, conditions & historical land management practices and readiness for National release.
