Grant Activity:
Optimising Care: Phase III Trial in women with metastatic breast cancer to improve quality of life via exercise and diet
Purpose:
Women with metastatic breast cancer (MBC) have a poor prognosis (30% five-year survival) and poor quality of life (QoL). While many programs and services are available to support women with early-stage breast cancer due to a large evidence-base, few, if any, supportive care interventions are available for women facing a terminal diagnosis of MBC. This world-first trial will evaluate whether an exercise and dietary intervention can improve the QoL of women with MBC compared to current practice.
