Purpose:
The Masigalgal IPA Consultation Project must consult with Traditional Owners to make a decision on the appropriateness of the dedication of their country as an Indigenous Protected Area and to develop an Indigenous Protected Area plan of management for the proposed IPA.
Land and sea country included in the proposed IPA are Aukane Islet, Bak (Bourke Islet), Damudth (Dalrymple Islet), lgab (Marsden Islet), Kabbikane Islet, Koedal (Kondall Island), Mauar (Renne! Island), Mimi Islet, Rug (Smith Cay), Umaga (Keats Islet), and Yauk (Layoak Islet). The size of these islands ranges from 3.9Ha to 63Ha.
