Physiological impacts of prolonged bushfire smoke exposure on first responders and outdoor workers
Purpose:
This project aims to investigate the physical health impacts of prolonged bushfire exposure during the 2019/20 bushfires on firefighters, other emergency services personnel and outdoor workers. It will link the cohort to hospital data, medical benefits scheme data and compensation data. The findings will provide new information about short and medium term physical impacts, health service use and compensation claims to inform future olicy and practice for these workers.
