Film to Raise Indigenous People's Awareness of, and Access to, the...
The purpose of the Grant is for the Aboriginal Family Law Pathways Group, a subcommittee of the Greater Sydney Family Law Pathways Network, to produce a film to raise awareness of, and improve indigenous access to, the family law system. The film will be used to educate indigenous agency workers who engage with community in the front line, and to educate communities directly. The film will explain the benefits of using the family law indigenous list in Sydney and other locations. This project contributes to closing the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians by improving access to justice for indigenous families.
The expected outcome of the grant activity is for the indigenous community to better understand the differences in the federal and state legal systems as they relate to children, and the benefits of using family law services, including courts and the family law indigenous lists where available.
