Purpose:
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an age-related neurodegenerative disease that is on the rise due to the ageing population. It is now thought that changes to the blood vessels in the brain are the earliest sign of AD, and actually predispose the patient to development of AD. This grant will focus on the endothelium of brain vessels and the impact of ageing on endothelial cell dysfunction and AD progression.
