Developmental disability in the family: Consequences for siblings.
Purpose:
Children with developmental disabilities require life-long support. Their siblings face significant challenges in their own lives but little is known about the size of the problem. This project aims to investigate positive and negative consequences for siblings, and how to help them. We predict that sibling experiences will depend on their own personal qualities and family situations. We will describe sibling circumstances and needs, and propose new models of funding and support for them.
