Purpose:
There are many disease states that affect the oesophagus, and for each of these, existing treatments are not meeting the needs of the patient. Drug delivery to the oesophagus is a significant challenge, as the anatomy and physiology of the oesophagus serves as an effective barrier against the external environment. The goal of this project is to develop innovative and improved treatments for oesophageal diseases. The comprehensive study design will advance the oesophageal drug delivery field.
