Grant Activity:
Better data on methamphetamines and other drugs among Indigenous Australians to inform policy and practice
Purpose:
Substance use is linked with much physical, psychological and social harm in Australia, including among its First Peoples. Population estimates of substance use among Indigenous Australians have been described as inadequate to inform service planning. This study will create a tablet computer-based survey tool to improve self-report data on methamphetamine, other illicit drugs and tobacco. It will also provide an immediate and tailored brief intervention, something not currently available.
