Grant Activity:
The Cellular Lipid Landscape is a Defining Trait of Human and Murine Immune Systems: Determining the Role of Ether Lipids in Myeloid Cells
Purpose:
By separating the interior environment from the exterior environment cell membranes define the margins of life and death. Lipids are the fundamental building blocks of all cell membranes, and there are thousands of different types of lipids present in cell membranes. In this application we propose that differences in the types of lipids present in cells has a major role in influencing the function of the cells of the immune system.
