Grant Activity:
Advancing the state-of-the-art in genomic rearrangement detection in cancer
Purpose:
Chromosomal rearrangements are mutations that drive cancers and cause genetic diseases. Their detection from DNA sequencing data is an important but challenging problem in research and in the clinic. We have developed a computational method that halves the number of false positives compared to existing tools. In this grant we will make significant advances in sensitivity and accuracy, especially in currently inaccessible genomic regions using novel algorithms and machine learning approaches.
