Grant Activity:
Prevalence and impact of fraudulent cancer research publications targeting the functions of human genes
Purpose:
We have recently proposed that parts of the cancer research literature are unreliable, due to the possible mass creation of fraudulent publications around the functions of different human genes in cancer. We have written a computer tool “Seek and Blastn” to identify these publications. This project seeks to improve and apply this tool to discover what we believe to be thousands of papers that have been fraudulently created around the functions of individual human genes in different cancer types.
