Grant Activity:
Early detection of lung cancer
Purpose:
Lung cancer is generally detected very late, when the cancer has already progressed and potentially spread to other parts of the body. Screening for lung cancer to detect the disease early is currently not feasible. We developed a blood-based biomarker capable of detecting lung cancer. Early detection of lung cancer, which will be tested in this application, would reduce the mortality associated with the disease significantly as earlier detected lung cancer is better to treat.
