A new target for heart failure treatment: the blood-brain barrier
Purpose:
Heart failure is a complex disease and a major health and economic problem in Australia and the rest of the developed world. Despite numerous therapies the prognosis for heart failure patients remains poor. This project will investigate the mechanisms of blood-brain barrier breakdown and how this leads to heart failure progression. This research will help identify new targets for the treatment of heart failure.
