Free fatty acid receptors as novel bronchodilator targets in severe asthma
Purpose:
People who have severe asthma have worse symptoms and are less responsive to current asthma drugs. We have discovered new drugs that relax both mouse and human airways, even when the airways are maximally contracted, as in a severe asthma attack. We now need to show that these drugs are effective in mouse models of disease and show how they work in human airways, to support a future clinical trial in people with severe asthma.
