Data informed healthcare: Improving outcomes for women with gestational diabetes through innovative data communication
Purpose:
A diagnosis of gestational diabetes in pregnancy results in intensified monitoring and increased birth intervention. While there are increased risks for some pregnancies, many women with gestational diabetes have a normal delivery of a healthy baby. Our research program will determine which women have higher risk of poor outcomes, and develop and evaluate communication and benchmarking data interventions to improve decision-making, reduce early births and reduce costs in the health system.
