Grant Activity:
Regulation of Haematopoietic stem cell function by the E3 Ubiquitin ligase HectD1
Purpose:
Cancer patients often require bone marrow transplantation to replenish their blood lineages after chemotherapy. Haematopoietic stem cells (HSC) found in the bone marrow can generate every type of blood cell, but our understanding of how the survival, expansion and function of HSCs are regulated is still limited. We aim to increase our knowledge of this highly important cell type by investigating the role of HectD1, a critical factor required for HSC function, recently discovered in our lab.
