Grant Activity:
Systematic multidisciplinary approach to define impacts, molecular mechanisms, and ways to treat PFAS exposure.
Purpose:
Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are synthetic chemicals that have been used in industrial and household purposes for the past 80 years. It is not clear if these chemicals have negative impacts on human health, and if they do, how to mitigate these effects. In this study we define how PFAS impacts human health both at the population level and the molecular level, and will provide insight into how to treat at risk individuals and improve the health of the Australian population.
