Purpose:

The Australian Ballet has been invited to undertake a seven-performance season at the Joyce Theater in downtown New York in May 2019 to showcase exceptional Australian dance talent. The Australian Ballet will perform between 8 and 12 May (7 performances including performing at the Joyce Theatre’s Annual Gala on 8 May). This invitation is in recognition that The Australian Ballet was awarded the Rudolf Nureyev Foundation Prize for New Dance in 2018. The New York season will feature works by three Australian choreographers - Alice Topp, Stephen Baynes and Tim Harbour.
