Genetically defining and pharmacologically exploiting new oncogenic dependencies in Myc-driven lymphoid cancer
Purpose:
I will develop new treatments for blood cancers like multiple myeloma (MM) and B-cell lymphoma that share biological features associated with resistance to conventional treatments. By genetically editing the cancer-causing genes in MM and B-cell lymphoma, I have identified new (non-chemotherapy) drug targets that can overcome treatment resistance. My research will validate such drug targets and devise new therapies to improve patient outcomes.
