HealthLAB - Sharing health innovations from Big Rivers to the Tiwi Islands
Purpose:
HealthLAB is an interactive, mobile, science educational laboratory that incorporates health innovations to promote healthy lifestyles. Participants visit stations to take their own biomedical measures and engage in discussions with health science professionals about reducing their risk of chronic disease. For National Science week 2023, HealthLAB will run activities around Darwin and travel to the remote communities of Naiuyu and Wurrumiyanga. Participants can use interactive technology and talk to scientists, health professionals and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees about the science behind the inner workings of the human body, the technology behind the equipment we use, and exciting careers in science.
