Purpose:
At the moment the serviced apartments (built in 1987) used for holiday letting have no earth wool roof insulation causing leakage of cold air from air–conditioned areas and also causing excessive radiation from hot ceiling cavities into the apartments. The holiday complex is located in the tropics, there is a need for air–conditioning. To reduce the energy consumption needed to cool the spaces, we propose installing R4.0 earth wool insulation in the roof cavities.
