Purpose:
The critically endangered Central Rock-rat is one of Australia's mammals at the highest risk of extinction. It has suffered a 95% reduction in extent of occurrence since European settlement. This project will establish a secure population of Central Rock-rats within a large (9,450 ha) feral predator-free area at Australian Wildlife Conservancys Newhaven Wildlife Sanctuary.
