The Government has committed $380 million to the Mobile Black Spot Program to invest in telecommunications infrastructure to improve mobile coverage across Australia including along major regional transport routes and in small communities.
As part of the commitment, funding was allocated to Round 5 to improve mobile coverage in regional and remote Australia including targeting public interest premises.
This grant funding to Optus has been awarded through a competitive process to deliver 83 new base stations across Australia.
