This project will document post-fire survival and establish recovery guidelines to prevent extinction of 12 Priority Listed and 9 associated endemic plant species in the northern New England, one of the most floristically diverse landscapes in NSW. Many endemic, rare and threatened species occur here in small populations or with very narrow ranges, and are vulnerable to many threatening processes including severe wildfire and climate change. The project will deliver three key goals: (1) document post-fire survival and current state of known populations; (2) deliver immediate actions to prevent extinction and aid population recovery; (3) identify key knowledge gaps and impediments to long term recovery and establish monitoring guidelines.
