The Elusive Hearts Study: Using genomics to diagnose and manage inherited cardiovascular diseases
Purpose:
Our understanding of how genetic variants lead to cardiac diseases is limited, and only 40% of families receive a genetic diagnosis. We seek to develop a national cohort of patients with heritable cardiovascular diseases where current genetic testing has failed to identify a cause, and apply advanced, state of the art research-based sequencing and analysis methods to identify a cause. This will give the family a diagnosis, allow more accurate risk prediction and provide mechanistic insights.
