AUSTRALIA, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, AND UNITED STATES TRILATERAL DIALOGUE
The Australia-South Korea-US Trilateral Dialogue would bring together, for the first time, key policymakers and influencers from all three nations to examine key political, security, economic and trade issues, and how trilateral cooperation can strengthen relations among the three countries and foster peace, stability, and economic prosperity in the Indo-Pacific, more broadly. Potential sub-themes to be explored in-depth include climate change, economic cooperation, and development assistance. As all three countries are treaty allies, cyber-security would also be a topic of discussion. This proposal seeks funding for the virtual trilateral meeting in December 2021 (additional AKF funding may be requested in 2022 for a meeting in Seoul once we have co-funding commitments from each country). Five to six people from each side would be represented with the main goal of validating key themes and issues for future dialogue discussions. Key deliverables after the virtual dialogue include policy recommendations or directions and news release.
