Purpose:
"Kidney disease patients on dialysis are especially susceptible to infections due to their frequent use of healthcare services, their immune deficient state and their exposure to dialysis catheters. My project is the basis of a national initiative to reduce the burden of dialysis catheter associated bacteraemia, the most expensive healthcare acquired infection in the highest risk patient group, and drive savings of life and money."
