Purpose:
Rochedale State High School is sending Team Leviathan, comprising of three students in years 8 and 9 to participate in the REA Subs in Schools Challenge National Finals in Sydney. The students have collaboratively designed and built a Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) which they will use to navigate through a series of underwater challenges. The Subs in Schools are a STEM program designed to equip students to take part in the new set of industries being developed as part of the future submarine program. This is the first team to participate in the SUBS in Schools Challenge from Rochedale SHS. The team are highly motivated entering the competition and developing their ROV as an independent team project.
