Grant Activity:
Exploring the potential of BH3 mimetic anti-cancer drugs in blood cancers
Purpose:
The greatest potential to improve outcomes for patients with blood cancers that are currently incurable is to develop new treatment strategies with novel drugs. A new class of drugs that target a specific weakness in several blood cancers has been developed based on our Australian science. The first of these, venetoclax, is now becoming available for routine use in Australia. My ongoing research will establish how best to use this type of drug to eliminate relapsed blood cancers in patients.
