PBS Program Name:
NHMRC 19/20 1.1 Health and Medical Research
Grant Program:
Investigator
Grant Activity:
Reducing the consequences of prematurity by improving the transition at birth.
Purpose:

Being born preterm is the greatest cause of neonatal death worldwide, with survivors at a high risk of lung, cardiovascular and brain injury. Interventions around the time of birth can significantly improve outcomes of preterm infants, with life-long benefits. My research program focuses on understanding the physiological mechanisms underlying death and multiorgan injury at birth and develops new innovative strategies focused on improving immediate and life-long outcomes in preterm infants.
