Purpose:
The Murray River Paddlesteamer project proposes a $400k investment in four key areas: A capacity and feature enhancement to the PS Emmylou to enable an all year 4 star boutique style service, acquisition of a shuttle bus to create new services, an extensive accompanying tourism engagement plan and a feasibility study into a locally designed and built new Murray River Paddlesteamer. This project will create a unique destination for increasing visitation, encouraging extended stay lengths and enhancing visitor experience. It will produce 10 new permanent tourism jobs and 13 project period jobs, as well as providing additional services to support other local businesses with transport to historical, sporting, winery and farmgate locations.
