Purpose:
The major outcome of this project will be to convert the 36 interior lights and fittings of St Declans Church from inefficient, old technology, energy absorbing Mercury Vapour Globes to the more highly efficient LED fittings and globes.
To achieve this, the existing infrastructure that provides the power to the existing lights will need to be re-configured to accept the new LED technology.
A licensed electrician will be contracted to undertake this task.
New light fittings/shades will also need to be designed, manufactured, and installed that will complement the existing architecture of the church.
These will also be installed by the electrician.
Due to the height of the church ceiling, scaffold will need to hired and used on site during this process of de-commissioning the existing lights and the installation of the new.
The end result of this project will be significant energy savings to the local church community, but will also lower our carbon emissions/footprint in the wider community.
