NT School Solar Car Challenge
Purpose:
For 30 years, the World Solar Challenge has welcomed the greatest minds to push the limits of technological innovation to travel from Darwin to Adelaide in a solar vehicle. Now Northern Territory students can participate in their own challenge. Whereas tertiary and secondary students participate in the World Challenge, the NT Schools Solar Challenge is open to year 5 and 8 students. They will design, build and race their model solar cars. The event is about ensuring real, measurable learning experiences in Science, Design Technology and Mathematics. The Maths Teachers Association of the NT want to ensure students have the capacity to participate.
