Grant Activity:
Broome STEM Festival
Purpose:
Telethon Kids Institute along with partners from the Broome community are holding a STEM Festival to celebrate all things science on August 18 and 19 during National Science Week. The festival will be split into three parts: a school session, a community day and a community Q and A panel and networking event. The festival aims to celebrate and highlight scientists from the local community paying particular respect to the knowledge of Indigenous Australians, as our first scientists. We aim to inspire local students to connect with science, so they consider STEM as a future career. While we are hosting the event in Broome, we aim to attract families and children from regional/remote towns as well.
