Vision (why) is to sustain and grow our business so people with disability in Tasmania have equal access to work and training. Approximately 60% the enterprise's income comes from its commercial work, particularly its substantial timber manufacturing operation. Other commercial units include: Merit Commercial Solutions (product assembly, mailout, secure document destruction), Encore (second hand clothing), Plenty Catering and Hire (corporate catering) and Spruce Grounds Maintenance (commercial and residential gardening service). As Self Help Workplace owns the site, the installation of solar panels is an investment in the enterprise so it can continue to grow and create more employment opportunities for people with disability.
