Harnessing big data to improve access to care and outcomes in REcent Migrants And Refugees diagnosed with Cancer (REMARC)
Purpose:
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in Australia. There have been 4.5 million migrants and refugees to Australia in the last 30 years. This research program uses big data to study whether recent migrants and refugees diagnosed with cancer access the right treatments and the impacts of a cancer diagnosis on these people’s lifespan and employment. Our research will highlight current gaps and the policy changes needed to improve the lives of people diagnosed with cancer in this population.
