Purpose:
Working for a Better World Preparing for Work in Disability Support, delivered in partnership with Interact Australia (Interact) aims to create pathways to employment and education for job seekers and parents transitioning back into the workforce. Interact are a NDIS provider who currently employ Disability workers across the Western Melbourne region.
The aim of the project is to empower up to 20 job seekers and Parent's Next participants to pursue an education and employment pathway. The program will support the participants holistically with confidence building, training and certification, practical job searching and placement opportunities.
Successful participants will gain the skills and NDIS knowledge to commence work in the sector. On completion, participants will be provided with the opportunity to further their studies in the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support to enhance their career prospects in the Disability services sector. Job seekers who themselves identify as having a disability will be provided opportunities to work as Peer Support workers.
