Purpose:
HRDS Technologies has developed an intelligent hybrid hydraulic regenerative drive system known as REGENODRIVE for use in heavy vehicles. This proprietary system captures the kinetic energy when a vehicle is slowing, stores that energy in hydraulic cylinders and later releases the energy to assist vehicle acceleration. Expected benefits include improved fuel consumption and reduced carbon dioxide, nitric oxide, particulate, hydrocarbon emissions and reduction in brake wear. The project objective is to optimise the control of the hydraulic regenerative drive system, enable further integration of the drive system with driver controls and optimise the performance of the whole vehicle.
