Science for Australia's Future – Inspiring Australia
Grant Activity:
A New View of Life – Celebrating the end of Kepler and Cassini
Purpose:
NASA scientists are headed to Australia, bringing Saturn to Sydney, new planets to Perth, and more. In September, NASA's Cassini, which has been in orbit around Saturn, met its fateful end while the Kepler Space Telescope, which has been discovering planets around other stars, will run out of fuel by mid–2018. Audiences will hear from NASA scientists from the Cassini and Kepler missions at a series of events hosted by Mt Stromlo Observatory astrophysicist Dr Brad Tucker. With the announcement of Australia's very own space agency, it's a timely look at the international context of our contribution to furthering humanity's understanding of the Universe.
