Australian Search and Rescue Drone company Ripper Corp, in partnership with Lifesaving society of Korea (LSK), signed an agreement May 2021 to undertake a major multi-year activity training local lifesavers and collaboratively deploying drones to supervise swimmers and actively save lives with deployable life preservers. The plan is to demonstrate capability and train local staff in order to enhance existing lifesaving ultimately delivering a drone rescue service to all 300 beach areas of Korea. The project will include close community, Government and stakeholder consultation including outdoor information and demonstration events for local Beach communities. The objective is to build trust and acceptance via training and successful drone deployment rolling out drone protection and rescue services. The project will utilise world class AI, Camera, remote active speaker technology for direct communication with swimmer in distress and rapid deployable life preservers via Ripper group drone technology. The program identifies new technological pathways to expand the program to become an essential part of Korea's lifesaving and coastal awareness. Korea is the first step of a strategy to reduce drowning in Asia which accounts for more than 50% of global drowning annually. The Australia-Korea program will save lives and build stronger bi-lateral ties.
