Purpose:
Recognising and treating chronic physical illness (e.g., coronary heart disease, stroke, obesity, diabetes) in people with mental health challenges is an unmet clinical need. My research aims to study the biological underpinnings of physical illness in psychiatry. This is expected to provide a foundation for integrated physical-mental health care in psychiatry and ultimately improve the physical health of people with mental illness.
