China-Focus Literature Program at OzAsia Festival 2018
OzAsia Festival will present a public-facing literature program exploring contemporary writing and ideas from Australia and Greater China. Building on the success of 'Writing China' in 2017, the 2018 China-focus literature program will extend over the full three weeks and have increased accessibility as part of the festival's free outdoor programming.
Panels and in-conversation style events will connect established writers from Greater China with Australian counterparts, including Chinese-Australian writers, to facilitate bilateral dialogue, networking and exchange. The program will provide a platform for strengthening and fostering new partnerships as well as facilitating the professional development of individuals engaging in the Australia-China creative space.
Emphasis on market engagement will include Chinese students studying in Australia, Australian and Chinese community groups and classic literature focused audiences. The China-focus literature program will provide a unique platform for cultural and artistic exchange and showcasing positive bilateral relations to both Australian and Chinese audiences.
