Student STEM career development throughthe WA Robotics Playoffs program
Purpose:
The WA Robotics Playoffs (WARP) program supports academic and industry STEM mentoring for high school students, particularly those from under-represented groups, to enable participation in the WARP robotics activity and STEMTECH and career expo. Robotics and automation will play an increasingly important role in the Australian economy and there will be significant demand for skilled employees in these areas to support mining, agriculture, defence and other industry sectors. The project will promote STEM studies, particularly engineering and computer programming, at high school, to build awareness of robotics and automation career opportunities, and importantly encourage students to consider employment in STEM careers.
